Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about Weyaan’s parent-led carpool pilots.
Who can join a Weyaan carpool group?
Only parents, guardians, or authorized caregivers approved by your school or PTO can participate. Each member verifies their phone number and relationship to the school before joining.
Does Weyaan run background checks?
Schools and PTOs decide how to handle driver vetting. We integrate with their preferred background check providers or accept proof of existing clearances, and we track attestation dates inside Weyaan.
How are routes and drivers assigned?
Parents add their availability and preferences. Weyaan suggests balanced rotations, but families can adjust assignments anytime. Administrators can view the rotation log in real time.
What happens if someone cancels last minute?
Drivers can pause a ride with one tap. Weyaan automatically notifies the group and surfaces backup drivers who opted into on-call duty.
Can I keep certain details private?
Yes. Parents control who can view each child’s schedule, and sensitive information is only shared with approved drivers in that carpool.
Does Weyaan share data with advertisers?
No. We never sell personal data or share information with advertisers. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
Is there a mobile app?
Our responsive web app works on any device. During the pilot we also test native iOS and Android experiences with volunteer families.
How much does Weyaan cost after the pilot?
We co-design pricing with each school community. Options include per-family memberships, sponsorships, or district-wide coverage.
Who drives during a Weyaan carpool?
Only vetted parents or guardians from the participating school community. Each driver agrees to the school’s transportation policies before accepting rides.
How do you handle safety incidents?
Parents and administrators can report issues directly in the app. Weyaan logs the report, pauses the carpool if needed, and alerts the school contact immediately.
